Hot! Hot! Hot!
I must start this post by acknowledging this amazing lady for holding it together under less than ideal circumstances….let me explain.
The morning of Ms. B’s session, as I stepped into the studio, something seemed amiss. It was early in the morning – before 7am – but it felt warm. (It was late July…) My worst fears were realized when I checked the thermostat to discover that the temperature inside was 74′. And I knew it would only get warmer as the sun came up.
I headed outside to check the A/C unit, and while I was able to get the fan running, cool air was NOT coming out of the vents inside. I called the HVAC service that I had used in the past and they were able to come out right away – but I had a client arriving at 10am! What to do?
I got in touch with Ms. B she assured me that she was ready to go and that everything would be fine. (Such a babe!) So I scheduled the A/C service for the afternoon, pulled out every fan in the house, and prepared for a rockin’ photo session.
The universe graced us with an overcast day – which helped tremendously. And while I sweat through my clothes, my client stayed relatively cool and her hair and makeup remained FLAWLESS. (Thanks, Portia!)
When the HVAC repairman arrived in the afternoon, it was a simple capacitor replacement that took about 15 minutes, and at minimal expense. After a cool shower and a few hours, everything was cooled to a perfect temp. WHEW!

Why did you do your boudoir photo shoot?
I’ve spent my entire life with less than positive feelings about my body. Approaching my 40th birthday, I knew it was time to shake that off and find it in me to feel good about myself.
What was your favorite part of your session?
How pampered And amazing I felt while I was getting my hair and makeup done prior to my session. And then the pure joy I felt during my photo session – despite the heat!
What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth and self-image? Tell me your story.
I did this shoot to help me feel empowered. Having a teenage daughter, I know how important it is to set a good example for her. This session really opened my eyes and allowed me to see my strength and beauty.
Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, what was different?
NO! In the best possible way! You hear people talk about how this can be an incredible experience and that is will change how you see yourself, but I never imagined it would be THIS impactful. Working in healthcare, I wear scrubs every day and run around like crazy. I hardly ever take time for me, so this was beyond an amazing experience.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
How my Boss Babe energy came out during my shoot. Kat showed me the back of her camera and I was like, “What?!?!” I am in love with this girl.
Is there anything else that you would like us to know?
You made me cry – a couple times. I just LOVE looking at my gorgeous, sexy photos in my beautiful, luxury album. My husband totally lost it when I showed him my photos and said, “Now you get to see what I see!” Thank you, Kat and Portia!
