You’ve got questions….I know!
Don’t let that stand in the way of booking an amazing, luxury boudoir experience.
Have you already booked your session and want to know what to expect? (besides awesome images)
Well, Diamond Girl – that’s why I’m here!
I pride myself on being an open book when it comes to the questions that future Diamond Girls have about their session with me. I’m more than just your photographer – I’m your biggest fan, your sounding board, and your partner in creating images to bring out your best, most beautiful and truest self.
Here are some of my clients’ most frequently asked questions questions…
AS A PLUS-SIZE WOMAN, SHOULD I STILL SCHEDULE A SHOOT?
ABSOLUTELY, YES! I photograph real women of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages with my goal being that each woman leaves their session loving themselves – AND their images. (MOST of my clients are average to plus-sized women. 🙂 While planning for your session, we’ll choose the outfits that will flatter you most, and during your session I will work with you to pose you from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. It’s my job to find what makes your body look amazing, and to push you a little bit out of your comfort zone – so you can see yourself as your total bombshell self. If you’re still having some doubts about your body or how to move to a place of body positivity, check out my blog post on the subject, here.
I DON’T BUY OR WEAR LINGERIE. WHAT THE HECK SHOULD I WEAR?
I gotta give some love to my VIP Group here. These ladies are a GREAT resource for outfits for sessions that fit all body types from XS-6X. Yandy, Victoria’s Secret, Macy’s and Adore Me are some favs if you’re looking to invest in a piece or two. My Client Collection is fully stocked and contains gorgeous, brand-new pieces that we purchase from wholesalers. You can also learn your specific body type and how to dress to look your best by clicking HERE
DO YOU PHOTOSHOP OUT THE AREAS OF MY BODY THAT I DON’T TOTALLY LOVE?
I don’t really work in Photoshop that much, but I do edit out things that aren’t permanent. If you’ve got a blemish or a bruise in a bad spot, I’ll edit it out. However, I’m not going to manipulate your body in Photoshop to make you look like something you’re not. As a professional, it’s my job to help you to see yourself as the goddess you are, beyond all the makeup and clothes. I do most of my photo finishing in Lightroom, and I’ve written about my approach to photo editing in another post, so feel free to read more about how I bring out the true beauty of each of my clients.
DO I HAVE TO GET MY MAKEUP DONE FOR MY SESSION?
OMG…Yes! And here’s why – this is the ultimate self-love experience. You deserve to be pampered and to have your features accentuated by a professional. When you work with my staff, you’ll find that my hair and makeup artists are amazing and strive to create a look for each of my clients that is in step with their style and plays perfectly on camera. If you’re a minimal/no makeup kinda girl, it may be a little jarring when you see how much product is going on your face, but don’t worry. If you desire a more natural look, my makeup artists know just how to apply what’s needed to help even out your skin tone, without looking over done. Plus it’s part of the experience. Your session is meant to show off your assets, but also as a way to pamper yourself. You should consider your time in the chair as an opportunity for you to relax and get comfortable with the whole process.
DO I HAVE TO SHARE MY IMAGES ONLINE?
Absolutely not. If you want to share your images, I love that. After your session, and after viewing your images, I will have you sign a model release for your images, if that is something with which you are comfortable. This release gives you control of what I can and cannot post, from a little to a lot. This includes sharing images online, in our VIP group, in the studio or not at all. Every client’s level of comfort is different, and I completely understand your desire for privacy. I’ve worked with teachers, politicians, and doctors who have requested their images stay off the internet in every way and I respect that. I’m photographing a very private part of your life, and being discreet is clearly important.
That said, I find that many of my clients LOVE their images so much that they are happy to share them. It’s always your choice.
DO YOU ONLY SHOOT WOMEN?
YES. I only shoot female boudoir – no couples, no men. My photography is completely focused on women and helping them to embrace their beauty and to feel empowered. This includes transgender women and those who identify as female.
I HAVE MY OUTFITS PICKED OUT – NOW WHAT? HOW ELSE DO I PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?
I’ve shared a ton of other information about how to prepare for your sessions in another post. Check it out HERE. I can’t emphasize enough that you need to HYDRATE and STRETCH! Diamond Girls always tell me after their session that their calves ache or that they weren’t expecting to use their back muscles so much. And it’s true! So, do yourself a favor, and stretch. You can learn more HERE.
HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR CLIENTS COMFORTABLE?
Let’s be honest…you’re getting half-naked with a complete stranger. I get that. My job as your photographer is to make the session as comfortable for you as possible. I am relaxed and silly, and I will get you to laugh as much as possible so that you feel at ease. Ask any of my previous clients – sessions are FUN!
My goal is that before you even set foot in my studio, we have met in person and planned your session, and that I have an understanding of your personal style and why you are doing your shoot. This will ensure that you get comfortable and relaxed in our environment. Then, we let the magic happen!
CAN I BRING A FRIEND TO MY SHOOT?
So, I don’t mind if you bring a friend to the salon while you are getting your hair and makeup done. Nerves. I get it. A friend can help you to amp up your sexy and to get you ready to step out of your comfort zone. But when it comes to your actual session, it needs to be just the two of us in the studio. It’s a little tight, and I work with natural light, so other people in the studio can cause shadows and distractions. And, as much as your friend means well, they don’t see what I do, and their suggestions will typically only serve to slow us down. Good news, I have a super comfy couch that your friend can relax on while we work.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?
Yes! I have an in-detail blog post about your payment options Your boudoir session is an investment and I understand some clients need a payment plan. We offer in-house payment plans (the Diamond Reserve!) as well as Paypal credit and Affirm. Take a peek at the post and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
WHEN DO YOU SHOOT BOUDOIR SESSIONS?
I shoot boudoir sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Saturdays with an additional fee). We start our day at 10 AM, with your hair and makeup, and wrap things up around 2-3pm. During your session I’ll show you the back of my camera from time to so, so that you can see how amazing you look. But you’ll view all of your finished images and decide on your products about a week after your session, during your ordering appointment. It’s a pretty fantastic experience, in all aspects!
OKAY, YOU ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. HOW DO I BOOK WITH YOU, GIRL?!
